Although there are no golf courses on the key, golfers enjoy a short drive to any one of Sarasota County’s thirty championship courses. Lido Key’s wide beaches are ideal for sunrise jogs. South Lido Park Nature Center is located at the southern tip of Lido Key, and offers great views of Sarasota’s downtown skyline. Visitors looking for quiet retreats can take a canoe trip on the park’s meandering trails, or picnic beneath the shade of Australian pines. Parasailing, jet skiing, and snorkeling are great ways to enjoy the warm waters of the Gulf and bay. Tennis courts abound, so avid players will have plenty of opportunities to practice their swings. Fans of Major League Baseball enjoy catching the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinnati Reds in their spring training games, and fans of fishing love catching prize grouper, snapper, and snook in the bay.
